Various Koniuchowsky Name Statements
The following are various statements that
Marshall/Moshe Koniuchowsky has made about his name and their sources.
"3. My birth name is “Maushe Joseph Koniuchowsky.”
Said name is pronounced the same as Moshe, but because my father wanted
Moshe and my mother wanted Michael or Mitchell or something similar they
compromised on the spelling. Therefore, my parents left my birth name
(as listed on my Birth Certificate) as “Maushe.” However,
Maushe is pronounced the same as Moshe. Therefore, I use the initials
“MJ” on licenses and
other legal matters so I do not have to explain why it is spelled Maushe
Joseph instead of Moshe Yoseph.
4. I have used the name of Marshall in previous work in the commercial
arena after college. I also used the same name Marshall as a Baptist Pastor
and was known as “Pastor Marshall.” I took that name because
Jewish believers in Yeshua HaMashiach (a.k.a. Jesus Christ) were looked
down upon. I no longer use the name Marshall." Declaration
of Name Statement

" I am even more sensitive to this as some rabbis
are the source for the recent rehashing of an 18 year old accusation that
Moshe is not Moshe but Marshall." Internet
, statement written 8/11/2003, posted to the YATI website and
"Maushe is the name of birth. (Moshe is the correct
Hebrew pronunciation). This can be verified by the Woottens, and by other
friends who have seen a copy of his birth certificate. 'Marshall', was
a name given to him by his first employer after graduation from college.
The employer felt Moshe was too Jewish, and not good for business. Koniuchowsky
now has restored his name as given to him by Almighty YHVH." The

capture), a refuting of the Ephraimite Error paper published by MJAA,
"I will never forget the time when I had just graduated
college back in 1979 and sat with my prospective Jewish employer to discuss
starting my first job. My new Jewish employer looked me straight in the
eye and told me that I would never get far in the business world with
a Jewish name like Moshe (which is my legal name on my birth certificate
despite MJAA claims to the contrary). He pointed his finger at me and
said "you know, you look like a Marshall. You'll do a lot better
in business as Marshall (without the burden of carrying around your Jewishness
as an albatross)." "I lovingly adopted that name since it freed
me from the name given to me by my verbally abusive father who would use
the name of Moshe, as would an army drill sergeant. I admittedly hid under
that pagan moniker. "Marshall" helped me to avoid detection
as a Jew and to also avoid memories of a somewhat abusive and unpleasant
childhood at the hands of both my father and non Jewish acquaintances,
who would ridicule the ethnicity of a uniquely Jewish name like Moshe."
What Is In A Name editorial
"Chaim, My name of birth is Moshe. I will be happy
to send you a copy of my birth certificate. Unlike many messianic rabbis
who have to find a Jewish name, I was born with one and had the pagan
name placed upon me by a employer who felt Marshall was better for business!
So I would appreciate you referring to me by me true name. I did not know
that you were on my e mail list, because I do not want to place anyone
there that does not want to be there. I will be happy to remove you."

subsection DEFENDING JERRY KEYES, YATI website. RABBI HAIM LEVI had written
and referred to Koniuchowsky as Marshall. "AS FOR YOU MARSHALL, I
CAME TO KNOW YOU DURING MY EFFORST TO TRY TO PLACE YOU AS AN ASSITANT
RABBI WITH RABBI PAUL GHENASIA, AT BETH EL BET EL IN PARIS, FRANCE."
