The Origins of Pesach, origins of Passover
study takes a look at the biblical passages and the
clues that are represented, showing different traditions than what is
represented
by post-exilic Israel, Jewish scribal traditions and Rabbinic Judaism..
It also shows an ancient Amorite / Canaanite Zukru festival to Dagan,
from Emar,
that is very similar to Pesach / Passover. This study also documents
the
sacrifice of the firstborn connections, the Samaritan Passover traditions
and the Islamic Eid al-Adha feast, showing the pre-Islamic pastoral
roots of this sacrifice.
This study shows the origins of the Jewish holy day
of Yom HaKippurim / Yom Kippur.
From the kuppuru ritual of the Akitu festival of ancient Assyria and
Babylonia,
to the Rabbinic applications of fasting for mourning the destruction
of the temple,
to the goat for Azazel and the Midianite / Kenite / Arabian connection
with the
pre-Islamic mother goddess of Al Uzza / Al Lat.
