Inscriptions are basically
text that is inscribed. The material that is inscribed varies considerably.
Some inscriptions have been found on pottery shards, clay tablets, to walls of caves and buildings.
Stelea [singular stele] are great sources for inscriptions. These are generally in stone, but some have
survived in wood. Statues of wood and metal also contain inscriptions, as do artifacts of precious stones,
bone, shell, glass and metal. The inscriptions in this section will primarily deal
with aspects of biblical history and YHWH.
