Dear Kathryn,
It is my understanding that James Trimm has a PhD in
Semitic languages from a Catholic Seminary, and has
done considerable work on the Syriac gospels, but I
could have it muddled.
For details, you should contact him directly.
Last I heard, his e-mail address was jstrimm@swbell.net.
He is the organizer and owner of the epigraphy forum
maillist. For information, see
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Aegean/6726/index.html
He is also active in "Nazarine Judaism". I think this
is
either Jews who have converted to Christianity (but preserved
their Jewish identity), or else Christians who have converted
to Judaism. There are links to relevant pages on his sigline.
Hope this helps.
