Having come from a background of Christianity,
I know that one of the key principles of salvation is to call
on the name of Jesus and you will be saved. The name of Jesus
will cast out demons, heal the sick, etc. Yet, Yahusha` said that
he did such things in his Father’s name, which is YHWH.
So what is actually being taught by the Messiah and the Tanak
[Old Testament] concerning the name of salvation?
Acts 2:14-21, “afterwards,
shimon keyfa stood up among the eleven sent ones [apostles] and
lifted up his voice and said to them, ‘men, yahudiym, and
all dwelling in yerushalayim. let this be known to you, and pay
attention to my words. for it is not as you think that these men
are drunk, for look, it is now until the third hour. but this
is that which was spoken by yoel the prophet. “in later
days it will be”, elohiym said, “i will pour out my
breath on all flesh, and your sons will foretell and your daughters
and your young men will see visions, and your elders will dream
dreams. and on my servants and upon handmaids i will pour out
my breath in those days. and they will foretell. and i will cause
signs in the heavens and mighty deeds on the earth; blood, and
fire, and columns of smoke, the sun will be changed into darkness
and the moon into blood before will come the great and awesome
day of dedi. and it will be that all who call the name dedi
will be saved.” ‘ “
This is a New Testament statement, pointing
to a precedent set in the Tanak [OT] that most Christians ignore
in their salvation messages – that the name to call on for
salvation is that of the Father –
dedi [Yahuweh], not his son Yahusha` [Jesus]. Keyfa [Peter]
has just quoted Yahuel [Joel] 3:1-5 (2:28-32). The Tanak is not
“old”, nor done away with; it is the “Scripture”
that the writers of the Testimony [Gospels] and the early church
fathers refer to when it states that it is written or what is
in “Scripture” – the writings. Kefa did not
refer to this passage as obsolete, nor replaced with the son,
he quoted it as being applicable.
Another NT verse that states that YHWH is
savior is that of the song of Miryam [Mary] in Luke 1:46, 47,
“and miryam said, ‘my
being magnifies dedi. and my being has rejoiced in elohiym my
savior.’ “
The name dedi
is the name for salvation.
Now in MaththiYahu 28:9, the Greek text reads that Yahusha` [Jesus]
greeted the women saying, "Greetings." So does the Peshitta,
the Aramaic version compiled by Rabbula between 411 – 435
CE. But, the Hebrew Gospel of Matthew account says, "The
name save you." This is the name of salvation, this is the
name that Yahusha` honored and died for, that of his Father YHWH.
I am not focusing on the New Testament for
validation. In fact, I am going to show that the Tanak is the
foundation and that the Messiah did not change or alter the principles
of his Father. What the letters of Paul state, is another matter.
I will not believe a later writers contradicting all that Yahusha`
lived and died to restore.
Yahusha`
In MaththiYahu 21:9, as Yahusha` was entering
Yerushalayim on a colt, the people shouted, "Blessed
is he who comes in the name dedi."
Math. 6:9, Yahusha` points out to them, that
in praying, to exalt the name dedi,
acknowledge that it is set-apart.
Yahuchanan [John] 5:43, "
'I came in the name of my Father, and you did not receive me;
but if another comes in his own name, him you receive.' "
Yahuchanan 10:25, "Yahusha`
answered, and said to them, 'I have told you, and you did not
believe. The works which I do in the name of my Father, they testify
of me.' "
Yahuchanan 17:11,12, “
‘from now on iam not in the world; but these are in the
world, and i go to you. qodesh father, keep them in your name,
which you have given to me; that they may be one, as we are. while
I have been with them in the world, ihave kept them in your name.
those You gave me, have ikept; and none of them is lost, but the
son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled. ‘
“
MaththiYahu 28:19, “
‘Therefore
go and make thalmiydiym [students] of all the Goyim, immersing
them in the name (singular, not plural) of the Father (dedi)
and the Son (Yahusha` - dedi’s
salvation) and the ruach dedi.'
" I believe this is one of the
verses that was added to. You have a singular name mentioned.
There is one name in common between the three, which is dedi.
But the ruach is not a third in a trinity. The ruach is part of
dedi as HIS breath. Therefore the ruach would not have been part
of the salvation factor and had to have been added later when
the philosophy of the Trinity began. That is another study, on
the Trinity. This verse in the Hebrew Gospel of Matthew reads,
“ ‘Go and teach them to carry out all the things which
I have commanded you forever.’ ” It does not have
a trinity message.
In the Tanak [OT]
II Shemuel 22:4, "
'the one to be praised i call on, dedi, and from my enemies i
am saved.' "
Yahuel [Joel] 3:5 (2:32), "
'for it will be that all who call on the name dedi, will be saved.'
"
Thehilliym 33:16-21, “
‘ the king is not saved by the multitude of a force. a mighty
man is not delivered, by abundance of power. a false thing the
horse for safety, and by the abundance of his strength he does
not deliver. look, the eye of dedi, to those fearing him, to those
waiting for his kindness, to deliver from death their soul, and
to keep them alive in famine. our soul waits for dedi, our help
and our shield he is, for in him our heart rejoices, for in his
qodesh [set apart] name we have trusted.’ “
Thehilliym 79:9, "
'Help us, elohey of our salvation, for the honor of Your name;
deliver us and atone for our sins, for the sake of Your name.'
"
Thehilliym 116:4,13, And
on the name dedi, I call, I pray, dedi, deliver my nafesh (being).'
" " 'The cup of salvation I will lift up, and on the
name dedi, I will call.' "
Thehilliym 124:8, "
'Our help is in the name dedi, the maker of the heavens and the
earth.' "
Mishley [Proverbs] 18:10, "
'A tower of strength is the name dedi, the righteous run to it
and are raised high.' "
Miykah [Micah] 7:7, “
‘but i will look to YHWH; i will wait for the elohey of
my salvation. my eloah will hear me.’ ”
Chabbaquq [Habbakuk] 3:18, 19,
“ ‘yet i will exult in YHWH; i will
rejoice in the elohey of my salvation. 19 YHWH adonay is
my might, and he sets my feet like the hinds, and he will make
me to walk on my high places.’ “
YirmeYahu [Jeremiah] 14:8,9, “
‘hope of yisrael, its savior in time of trouble, why should
you be as a stranger in the land, and as a traveler who turns
aside to lodge? 9 why should you be as one who is stunned, as
one mighty yet cannot save? yet you, YHWH, are in our midst, and
your name is called on us. do not leave us.’ “
All state that salvation is in the name dedi.
The Tanak states that dedi is our savior, the source of our salvation,
the one who gives us salvation, worked salvation for us, when
we cried, He saved us, ... dedi is the one who saves us by His
right arm -Yahusha`. It is by the atoning blood of His Son that
we are saved. Yahusha` is the sin offering and the Kohen Gadol
[High Priest] that ministers between dedi and us. Yahusha` bears
his Father’s name, that is the name by which we are saved,
the one that Yahusha` came in and honored above all others. Yahusha`
comes in his Father’s name, dedi. His own name (Yahusha`)
declares the salvation of who? dedi.
It is the name dedi that we are sealed with,
Yechezqel [Ezekiel] 8 and 9. This is confirmed in Revelations
3:12, 7:3, 9:4, 14:1, 22:4. We have the mark of ownership and
being set-apart to Him, on our foreheads, by His name. Just as
the kohen gadol [high priest] had a golden band, that was placed
across the forehead, written Qodesh laYHWH - Set-apart to dedi.
This was a type of what would be done on our foreheads.
Despite all the messages and messengers that
YHWH has sent through time, people have forgotten the author of
salvation, even sadly substituting his son. YeshaYahu [Isaiah]
17:10, “
‘because you have forgotten the elohey of your salvation,
and you did not remember the rock of your strength. on account
of this you will plant pleasing plants, and will sow it a foreign
shoot.’ “
Hoshea 13:4, “
‘yet i am YHWH, your elohey from the land of mitsrayim;
and you will know no other elohiym than me. for there is no savior
[moshiya] besides me.’ “
YeshaYahu 49:26, “
‘and those who oppress you, i will feed with their own flesh,
and they will be drunk by their own blood, as with fresh wine.
and all flesh will know that i YHWH am your savior [moshiya] and
your redeemer, the mighty one of yaaqob.’ “
YeshaYahu 45:15-25, “
‘truly, you are el who hides himself, elohey of yisrael,
the savior [moshiya]. 16 they will be ashamed, and also are disgraced,
all of them. together they go into disgrace, carvers of images.
17 yisrael is saved in YHWH with everlasting salvation. you will
not be ashamed nor disgraced to the forevers of eternity. 18 for
so says YHWH, creator of the heavens; he is the elohiym, forming
the earth and making it; he makes it stand, not creating it empty,
but forming it to be lived in. “i am YHWH, and there is
none else. 19 i have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of
the earth. i did not say to yaaqob's seed, seek me in vain. i
YHWH speak righteousness, declaring right things. 20 gather yourselves
and come; draw near together, escaped ones of the goyim; the ones
who set up the wood of their carved image, and the ones who pray
to an el who cannot save; they know nothing. 21 declare and bring
near; yes, let them consult together. who has revealed this of
old; who has told it from then? is it not i, YHWH? and there is
no elohiym other than me; a just el and a savior [moshiya]; there
is none except me. 22 turn to me and be saved, all the ends of
the earth; for i am el, and there is no other. 23 i have sworn
by myself, the word has gone out of my mouth in righteousness,
and will not return, that to me every knee will bow, every tongue
will swear.” 24 he will say, only in YHWH do i have righteousness
and strength; to him he comes; and they are ashamed, all who are
angry with him. 25 in YHWH all of the seed of yisrael will be
justified, and will honor.’ “
YeshaYahu 43:10-12, “
‘you are my witnesses,’ says YHWH, ‘and my servant
whom i have elected; that you may know and believe me, and understand
that i am he. before me there was no el formed, nor will any be
after me. 11 i, i am YHWH; and there is no savior [moshiya] besides
me. 12 i declared, and i saved, and i proclaimed; and there is
not an alien among you. and you are my witnesses,’ says
YHWH, ‘and i am el.’ “
Has YHWH changed His position on being the
savior and there is no other? Is YHWH an old, dotard of a king
that has passed his throne on to His up and coming son? Last I
read, the throne of YHWH was eternal, as was His kingdom. And
I believe that the scriptures place His son at His right hand,
not on the throne itself, in place of the Father. YHWH is not
old and passé, whose kingdom is waning. He is the I Am,
who was and is and is to come, the Eternal One. Malakiy [Malachi]
3:6,7, “ ‘for
i, YHWH, change not. because of this, you sons of yaaqob are not
destroyed. 7 from the days of your fathers, you have turned aside
from my rules and have not observed them. return to me, and i
will return to you, says YHWH tsebaoth.’
“ BeMidbar [Numbers] 23:19, “ ‘el
is not a man that he lies, nor a son of man and repents. has he
said, and does he not do ? and spoken, and does he not confirm
it?’ “ If these principles
are eternal, that YHWH does not lie and does not change, and if
He has stated that He is the Savior [Moshiya] and that it is His
name we are to call on for salvation, then it is so. It does not
matter what contradictory writers wrote, years after the Son was
executed. It does not matter what men compiled and called scripture,
hundreds of years after the Son lived, wrote. What matters is
the word of YHWH and that same message that His Son tried to teach
the people: “ ‘this then is how you should pray, “our
father in the heavens, set apart is your name. your kingdom come,
your will be done in the heavens, also on the earth. give to us
bread of our need this day. and forgive us our offences as we
also have forgiven those who have offended us. and not bring us
into trial, but deliver us from the evil one. for yours is the
kingdom and the power and the honor forever and ever.” ’
“
Deliverance and salvation are in the name
YHWH.
