| The following
are verses 2-17, of Shemoth [Exodus], which are typically referred
to as the 10 Commandments or Decalogue. These verses are like an
outline of all the other laws. The most important being those that
deal with YHWH. The first deal with the relationship with YHWH and
the following with the relationship with others.
I do not believe in numbering, I am not into
gematria (numerology) so the 10 commands are just bulleted. Following,
will be the other commands, in their respective sections. Again,
I will not be using the 613 commands that are recognized by Judaism,
some of which are redundant and others are not commands, but rather
statements.
· i am YHWH your elohey, who brought
you out of the land of mitsrayim, out of the beyth of slavery.
you will have no other elohiym before my face.
· you will not make for yourself an
idol, or any likeness of what is in the heavens above or on the
earth beneath or in the water under the earth. you will not worship
them or serve them; for i am YHWH your elohey, a jealous el, visiting
the iniquity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and the
fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing kindness
to thousands, to those who love me and keep my commandments.
· you will not bear the name YHWH,
your elohey, for nothingness, for YHWH will not cleanse whoever
bears his name for nothingness.
· remember the shabbath day, to keep
it qadesh. six days you will labor and do all your work, 1but
the seventh day is a shabbath of YHWH your elohey; in it you will
not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or
your female servant or your cattle or your ger [alien] who stays
with you. for in six days YHWH made the heavens and the earth,
the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day;
therefore YHWH blessed the shabbath day and made it qadesheh.
· honor your father and your mother,
that your days may be prolonged in the land which YHWH your elohey
gives you.
· you will not murder.
· you will not commit adultery.
· you will not steal.
· you will not bear false witness against
your neighbor.
· you will not covet the beyth [house]
of your neighbor; you will not covet the esheth [wife] of your
neighbor or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or
his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor." |
